Lodge

The Ross Lodge, an original camp building with pine interior and field stone fireplace, serves as the main dining hall/meeting area with an adjoining games and activity room. The attached fully equipped commercial kitchen, supported by the Mi-A-Kon-Da kitchen staff, is the activity center for the preparation and delivery of delicious meals for the campers and staff.

The Owl's Nest is a cabin nestled among towering pine trees and is used by campers and staff for inside games or simply relaxing on the outdoor deck - enjoying the spectacular views.

There is a spacious Arts and Crafts Center which also serves as a recreation hall, providing an ideal location to play ping pong, read or play board games.

The Outdoor Nature Centre provides a great indoor area for learning about the outdoors. It's also a fun place to hold sleepovers for tent groups and their counselor!

A wide range of additional cabins and work sites are also located in the central hub of the island. The various sections of the Mi-A-Kon-Da island 'community' has been carefully designed so as to limit the impact on the surrounding natural environment. A network of birch lined trails lead campers safely and efficiently through the pristine forest that surrounds the camp.

Accommodations

Campers live in spacious tent cabins in groups of 4-5 campers of similar age. The tent cabin sections, known as Driftwood, Centre and Senior, are age specific and have counselors residing in the same area.

Shower and Washroom Facilities

Our centrally located main washhouse provides all campers and staff with an abundant number of sinks, shower stalls (with hot water) and environment friendly compositing toilets. A second washhouse facility with hot showers and compositing toilets is also located in the Senior section. Additional composting, privies and low flush toilets are located at key sections on the island. Six unique beach showers are also available for all campers to enjoy!
