Sailing

Our sailing program provides instruction to campers of all levels. First time sailors will work towards learning how to skip their own boat, where campers start as passengers with the supervision of a counselor as their skipper. The training includes learning the basics of sailing, parts of the boat, steering, use of a sail, dumping and safety. Training progresses by teaching basic sailing skills; including knots and rigging, tacking, jibing and upwind sailing. Intermediate sailing instruction is for the sailors with some prior sailing experience where beginning topics will be reviewed and more advanced techniques will be introduced.
