On Tuesday April 26, the Ontario Camps Association will be hosting an Environmental Education Evening with the Minister of the Environment and Climate Change, Glen Murray (MPP). The event begins at 6:30 and will be held at Clement’s School ( 21 St. Clement’s Avenue) in Powell Hall. This event is open to members of the OCA and the general public– all are welcome!
Respect for nature and environmental stewardship are important qualities at the core of Mi-A-Kon-Da’s values. Mi-A-Kon-Da has several ongoing environmental initiatives, including solar power, no-trace camping and recycling. We hope to continue this legacy in the future and expand our environmental initiatives in areas such as tree planting, waste reduction, gardening, and education.
The OCA event on April 26 is open to anyone and everyone, so I encourage any Mi-A-Kon-Da campers, staff, families, or alumni to check out what is sure to be a worthwhile and interesting evening of discussion. You can RSVP at the following link: https://oca29.wildapricot.org/event-2212742.
I will see you there!
